Today first of Russian year in accords with Julian calendar.

Illustrious Ancestor Пётр Алексе́евич Рома́нов or Pyotr Alexeyevich Romanov (Peter the Great) send us on Julian calendar in 1699; since 1918 we forced to fake new year with - *bah* Gregorians... but some traditionals still apply for Старый Новый год.
